Hi, I’m Joseph Kernozek — a watercolor artist based in the Capital Region of New York.

My creative journey began in childhood, sketching with graphite and getting lost in the details. Over the years, I explored digital art and design, but I found myself craving the tactile, imperfect beauty that only traditional mediums can offer. That’s what led me back to watercolor — a medium that lets me embrace both control and chaos, flow and feeling.

Nature is my biggest muse. I’m inspired by its quiet beauty, but also its wild unpredictability — the way a breeze can bend a flower or a sudden storm can shift the sky. My style leans expressive and loose, focused more on capturing the feeling of a moment than recreating it perfectly. Every brushstroke is an invitation to slow down and simply be present.

On this site, you’ll find original watercolor paintings available for purchase. I may offer prints in the future, and I’m open to commissions if there’s something you’d love to see in my style.

Beyond painting, I’m an animal lover with a loyal dog and a few mischievous cats who are often nearby as I work. This space is my way of sharing a piece of the peace and joy I find in painting — with the hope it brings a bit of that same calm to your day, too.
